Behind the main altar are frescos showing different aspects of the life of St. Augustine as taken from The Confessions.  These frescos were painted by Benozzo Gozzoli between 1464 and 1465 on commission by the community’s prior Fra Domenico Strambi and they cover three walls of the choir.  The frescos shown below are in order starting with the upper left as the first and then moving to the right.
